So we *are* getting your blog in a book form? I hope the best bits are all there.I'm looking forward to buying this.Would you do a signing in London? ;-)Then again, how would one sign a Kindle copy?P.S. Is Maine straight? (judging by the excerpt you've published on Tumblr)
alex: Kind of, yes. I didn't want to give up on this style before having something proper published. The excerpt I posted on tumblr is just a self-contained short story - not part of the novel.Maine would identify himself as 'straight'. But one can take that as they will
Interesting! Now I only need to wait until September, argh... (why is it taking them so long?)
alex: I think it has to do with their schedule for the year (i.e. other books must come before this, etc)
Really looking forward to this. I understand that I'll be working in China in September. I'll let you know how it plays in Cantonese. Now, considering there are those of us who have been following your exploits for, well, years, and not to put the cart too much before the horse, but... what's next?
tim: Thanks Tim. It's been years, hasn't it. Oh dear. I don't know about Cantonese, but I think the publisher has plans for a Greek translation, which should go down a treat, of course. As for plans...well, this is kind of a huge year. I'll wait and see what happens. This is ridiculously premature etc, but depending on how this does and if anyone is interested in putting a second book out, I've started having some very very initial thoughts about what I want to write about
Congrats, NM (LP sounded better than NM, I have to say)...Is this going to be published - or at least distributed - in the US?
alwaysready: Thank you. I know for sure that it will be available to buy from the publisher's website (and sent anywhere in the world), though I think they're also considering finding an actual distributor in the States
'Fiction', eh? ;-)
jake: I'm not 24 and never have been
You should have a leg up on other first-time novelists since you are quite well known in the blogging arena. Hope you do well-I'm looking forward to reading it.My guess is that straight Maine falls for the also supposed straight, Guy. It will be interesting to see how you portray Guy in your book-an empty pretty boy?
Wow. All coming together now. And the date confirmed. Continued congratulations (although it's always bit weird for me)
i'd have preferred to email this privately, but what the hell.Last year was in many ways awesome. Work wise things really worked out for me and i have a boyfriend now of 2 years who i think is destined to be a part of my life for a v long time.Despite these god things. 2 of my best friends died in the two most cliched ways possible, drugs OD and HIV.Weirdly enough the sounds tacks you have provided have hit the moment in so many ways. WHo ever 'london preppy' is, the person behind it has helped me a big way, thanks x
