Friday 02/10/09

On Friday the website for magazine Dazed & Confused publishes a feature / interview on the death of London Preppy.

From Friday and for the foreseeable future – I don’t know how long; until somebody deletes the internet or something – the article can be found here:

http://dazeddigital.com/ArtsAndCulture/article/5163/1/Life_After_London_Preppy

"I just go through each day and surprise myself that I'm not dead by the end of it"

I don't know if i have to congratulate you for the feature or feel sorry for the death itself. Either way, its good you're still out there.

In hindsight, you will have to admit to being far too hard on Greg Timmermans! He did a (fairly) credible job in that role (you probably never saw it, but the last 30 minutes were an absolute tour de force - really captures the tone of the book's concluding chapters).

He speaks the world of you, that is, he speaks the world of your writing.

If you wrote a book, I would buy it.

I also miss you more than I miss Toby, too.

I can't differentiate between the stylized satirical writing and what actually happended. Did you writed a book called North or not.

Why North? What's wrong with the other points of the compass?

If London Preppy is dead, does that make you a ghost or a zombie?

This is like the death of Andy Kaufman. People will see you in the casket and still think it's a big joke.

LP, I almost thought you had died untill I re-read the article. First of all I doubt you would jump off a building - you would be in your bathtub, naked with "Another No One" from suede on loop and the empty bottle of valium neatly placed on the side - Prehaps ontop of "Less Than Zero."
